Running the Court

Meet the Coach

Wartburg Men’s Basketball is at the halfway point of their conference season and going strong. The Knights are 15-4 overall and 8-2 in American Rivers Conference play. The Knights have been good at keeping games close all season long, by making big plays on both ends of the floor.

Fifth-Year Option

The offseason starts but the work has only begun. The Wartburg men’s basketball team finished the 2021-2022 season with a record of 16-10 overall and 9-7 in the American Rivers Conference. The fifth-year option keeps the championship window open for a Knights team looking for redemption on the court next season.

Head Coach Dick Peth is in his 25th season and recently achieved the 600 career win milestone. During his tenure, he has led the Knights to back-to-back Iowa Conference championships in 2004-05 and 2005-06 and a record-setting fifth consecutive season of 20-plus wins in 2004-05. The 2005 IIAC Coach of the Year, he has also earned other accolades at the helm of the program including the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association's Paul Maaske award in 2005 and 2000, D3News Coach of the Month honors in 2001-02, and the Conference Coach of the Year award following the 2000-01 season.
